“To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past...and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America...with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” - Walt Disney

25 Days - 17

Day 17

A Hollywood Holiday

Just off of Buena Vista Street we can travel into the Hollywood Backlot.  The main road, running past the Animation Studios and ending at The Hyperion Theater & Tower of Terror is sparsely decorated.

The real holiday celebration in this area is tucked away in the back, near the Monsters Inc. ride.

Just inside/under the studios archway we come across the Mad T Party.  Not much is different about the "holiday" version of this party, so if you've been there before you can skip this version.

However, something that is a bit different is a holiday overlay for the Muppet's 3D Theater.

Kermit and the gang have taken a long trip for winter, and the theater has been rented out to the elves of Prep & Landing. Several times a day guests are allowed to enter via the theater exit with 3D glasses that look amazingly like the "protective eye wear" we use at Muppet vision.

Lanny & Wayne invite you into the show.
The 4D portion of the show comes in the form of lighting effects. Not much, but is something.
If you've seen the two TV specials, then this is not new to you. What is new is being able to watch it on a huge screen and in 3D.

After exiting the theater we get several posters promoting Prep & Landing.

This simple little addition to this corner of the park is cute, but reinforces the need for something to be done in this area. But that is a story for another day...
