D Que Blog is dedicated to all the magic, dreams and imagination that created Disneyland and the Disneyland Resort. Join us on a wonderful look at what makes this The Happiest Place on Earth.
“To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past...andhere youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America...with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” - Walt Disney
As of today - January 7, 2013 - Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland is closed for a major update. New track (same layout), new braking and ride systems, newly freshened paint job, completely rebuilt station area, and much more.
For those who didn't get a chance to ride Big Thunder before it went down for refurbishment I am re-posting one of my videos from early last year below. This will have to hold you over until later this year when the ride will be back, all fresh and new. Enjoy.
Check back here during the year for my Thunderous Updates.
As you prepare to ring in the new year of 2013, I invite you to take a look back with all of us at the year that was 2012. These two excellent articles from Mice Chat will take you on a journey through both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure and all the things that happened in 2012. It was a wonderful, crazy year after all...
For those who don't sleep in, be sure to get up early and watch the Rose Parade for Disney's entry into the parade. It should be a lot of fun, as long as your not freezing your baubles off sitting out there on Colorado Bl.
There are all sorts of big things we notice at Disneyland and California Adventure. It's hard to miss things like The Matterhorn, The Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, or even big things like the Horsedrawn StreetCar or Red Car Trolly. But do you ever stop to notice the little things like flower displays or signs. Well here is your chance to see if you notice the little stuff.
Where in the parks (not Downtown Disney) will you find the following collection of signs?
Below are just some random Bits & Pieces that I have gathered
Some will eventually end up in other projects.
A few are just things I have recorded/photographed while in the parks.
Either way, enjoy these different things.
Have you ever ridden Toy Story Midway Mania and just walked past Mr. Potato Head. Stop sometime and just listen. Occasionally he even makes comments about people in line. It's a lot of fun.
I've got a sinking feeling about this.
A few days ago, in the early morning while in the park,
I was waiting to view the first showing of
Instant Concert: Just Add Water.
I noticed the fountain rig was up in maintenance position.
Two workers were checking it out, and after exiting it
it began its descent into Paradise Bay.
This is what I saw in the first clip below:
After the rig failed to lower, an announcement was made
canceling the first showing of the show.
The workers returned to the rig, fixed something,
and the rig started down into the water again.
After some trouble the rig finally submerged.
Good thing too, because I was then able to record the show(s)
